Murtha Cullina's Sussman Elected Fellow of American College of Environmental Lawyers

The American College of Environmental Lawyers has elected Murtha Cullina attorney Mark R. Sussman as a 2014 fellow. The ACOEL is made up of about 200 members nationwide, including six from Connecticut. 

Sussman was selected based on his experience and high standards in the practice of environmental law. 

Sussman chairs Murtha Cullina's environmental practice group. He counsels clients on all aspects of environmental law with particular emphasis on air and water pollution, waste management, Brownfields remediation, chemical regulation and water supply issues. 

Two Hartford companies named top U.S. inner city businesses

Two Hartford companies have made the list of the fastest-growing U.S. inner city businesses.

Express Kitchens and Star Hardware were ranked No. 67 and No. 87 respectively on the list of fastest-growing inner city U.S. businesses, which was compiled by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) and Fortune.

Applicants were ranked according to revenue growth against their industry peers.

This year's top 100 winners represent a wide span of geography, hailing from 53 cities and 23 states.

The winners grew at an average compound annual growth rate of 39 percent and an average gross growth rate of 336 percent between 2009 and 2013.

Reid and Riege Attorneys Recognized as 2014 Connecticut Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

Eleven lawyers at Hartford law firm, Reid and Riege, have been recognized as 2014 Connecticut Super Lawyers and three lawyers have been recognized as 2014 Connecticut Rising Stars. 

The nominees are listed in the November 2014 issues of New England Super Lawyers Magazine and Connecticut Magazine. Reid and Riege also has five lawyers listed in the November 2014 issue of Super Lawyers Business Edition.

CT Convention & Sports bureau wins award

The Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau, which markets all of the state for international, national, regional and statewide conferences, conventions and major sports events, has been named a winner of Smart Meetings magazine's 11th annual Platinum Choice Award.

The CTCSB, based in Hartford, is the only convention bureau in New England to be honored with this award.

Smart Meetings is the industry's top magazine for meeting professionals.
