A new art studio and party space has joined the Shops at Yale retail center in New Haven.
The Giggling Pig Art & Party Studio is the seventh location in Connecticut since the business was founded in 2011.
The studio is at 55 Whitney Ave., part of The Shops at Yale owned by Yale University Properties.
Founder Hannah Perry and artistic business partner Melissa Mongillo offer children’s and family programming and events for all ages at the studio.
Perry and The Giggling Pig have been recognized with several international Stevie Awards over the years, which recognize the achievements and contributions of organizations and professionals across more than 60 nations.
In 2017, she won a Stevie Award for Women in Business, and in 2016, Perry and The Giggling Pig earned three Stevie Awards for Maverick of the Year, Female Entrepreneur of the Year, and Great Employer.
The Giggling Pig is open Tuesday through Sunday, but hours vary depending on offerings and special events, and also offers off-site programs and team-building sessions at area schools, organizations and businesses.
The Shops at Yale is made up of the Chapel Street Historic and Broadway Districts in downtown New Haven and includes a mix of retailers and restaurants, such as Apple, lululemon, Warby Parker, J.Crew, Derek Simpson Goldsmith, Villa Lulu, More Amour Boutique, Shake Shack, Raggs for Men & Women, and idiom Boutique.
