The city of New Britain has finalized the sale of 22.5-acres in the Pinnacle Business Park to aerospace manufacturer Polamer Precision Inc., for $1 million.
The sale was finalized June 30.
Polamer Precision – which is located at 105 Alton Brooks Way – adds the 22.5-acres to its existing 8.26-acre parcel, which houses a 152,000--square-foot manufacturing facility.
Polamer Precision plans to use the additional space to expand its operations, city officials said. The new facility, to be built over the next seven years, will add about 400 new employees to the company’s current workforce of about 175 workers.
In 2019, Polamer Precision announced plans to leverage a new $80 million contract with Rolls Royce to add three buildings in New Britain spanning over roughly 600,000 square feet. At the time, the company announced the new space would be built over seven years and add about 600 new employees to Polamer’s workforce.
No one from Polamer Precision was available Monday for comment.
Mayor Erin Stewart said the sale will go a long way toward growing the city’s manufacturing base.
“The sale of this land to Polamer Precision signifies the ongoing growth of the manufacturing industry in New Britain, as well as the continued development of our northwest neighborhood,” the mayor said in a statement. “This deal lessens the financial burden on our taxpayers while showing that one of the largest employers in the city is committed to expansion in New Britain.”
