A new drive-thru only coffee shop opening in Wallingford is preparing to debut in the coming months, but its presence can already be seen.
Arkansas-based 7 Brew Drive Thru Coffee last week installed its new 510-square-foot prefabricated building at 905 North Colony Road, in Wallingford. Company officials said they’re currently hiring staff for the new location, which is expected to open in September.
The new location will have 50 employees when it’s up and running, the company said.
Since being founded in 2017, 7 Brew Drive Thru Coffee has expanded to 250 locations in 29 states. The Wallingford location is the company’s first in New England, but a new division of the coffee chain is spearheading the expansion into Connecticut and Massachusetts.
HBJ was the first to report on 7 Brew’s Connecticut expansion plans, which come amid a surge in new coffee shops opening in Connecticut.
The coffee company puts a spin on traditional drive-thrus: instead of an intercom, 7 Brew uses a double-lane drive-thru where employees personally take and deliver orders.
