New Haven-based Newman Architects has announced a new structure, including a CEO, chief operating officer and four director-level positions.
A. Brooks Fischer, a principal at the firm, is now president and CEO. In that role, he will work to “advance Newman's growth, market and service expansion, and sustainable success,” according to the announcement.
Fischer, a graduate of Roger Williams University, joined Newman in 2004.
"I'm honored to lead the next generation of Newman Architects as we envision the possibilities for our clients and our company," Brooks said. "In working to fulfill our mission to create places of enduring value that serve, sustain and enrich life, our group together brings new ideas and excitement for the ability of the built environment to inspire and impact our future."
In addition, Melinda Marlén Agron, also a principal, was named chief operating officer. She joined Newman in 2018 and has degrees from Yale University, where she teaches architecture.
The four director-level positions are:
Newman Architects is active in Greater Hartford and recently designed plans for a $56.4 million renovation of Wesleyan University’s Public Affairs Center and art gallery.
The firm is also part of the development team for West Hartford 1, a mixed-use development on a former University of Connecticut branch campus.
In 2022, Newman Architects moved into a new office on the 15th floor of One Century Tower at 265 Church St., with a view that overlooks some of the firm’s projects.
The firm has a staff of about 30 and plans to add three new employees this month and next.
