New Haven digital health startup Wellinks names new CEO

Stacie Bratcher

New Haven-based digital healthcare firm Wellinks, which has developed virtual tools to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), has named a new CEO.

Stacie Bratcher is taking over as the company’s chief executive. She replaces former CEO Alex Waldron, who left the company in March to "pursue opportunities in the field of therapeutics, where he worked prior to his role at Wellinks," according to a company spokesperson.

Bratcher brings more than 20 years of experience leading companies involved in cardiopulmonary care, most recently serving as CEO of Jet Health, a home health and hospice company.

Prior to that, she was CEO of Alana Healthcare, a chronic condition management company focused on COPD and congestive heart failure.

A licensed physical therapist, her background in rehabilitation services includes multiple settings from outpatient to skilled nursing in both public and privately held companies.

Wellinks raised $25 million in a Series C funding round in 2021 to fund clinical research and development and expand marketing.

In September, Wellinks announced it teamed up with the University of Massachusetts on a new program,  called Healthy at Home, that measures the effectiveness of its virtual care that aims to prevent medical complications in COPD patients.

In June, Wellinks announced it reached a deal with Highmark BlueCross Blue Shield Delaware to deliver its virtual COPD care services to underserved populations in Delaware, starting on July 1.
