Ginny Kozlowski, a leader in New Haven’s economic development and tourism boards, will step down from her role as CEO of the Economic Development Corp. of New Haven in the New Year, city officials announced Wednesday.
Kozlowski also serves as head of REX Development and Visit New Haven groups.
Her retirement is effective Jan. 3.
City leaders said Kozlowski played a pivotal role in driving economic growth, regional collaboration, and tourism development in the Greater New Haven region.
She was at the helm for significant milestones, including achieving recognition of the first federally recognized Economic Development District in the state of Connecticut.
The board of directors will begin the search for her replacement immediately, but Kozlowski will remain as a consultant for a brief period following her departure.
"We are deeply grateful for Ginny's unwavering commitment and visionary leadership," said Shelly Saczynski, chairperson of the Economic Development Corp.’s board of directors. "Her contributions have left an indelible mark on the City of New Haven, the South Central Connecticut region, and the organizations she has so capably led."
