The New Haven Pride Center, a nonprofit focused on providing services and programming for the LGBTQ+ community, has signed a 10-year lease for a 5,000-square-foot space at 50 Orange St.

The site had previously been occupied by the nonprofit Artspace, which moved out this past summer.

Financial terms of the lease were not disclosed.

The landlord, Beacon Communities LLC, a Boston-based real estate firm, said the lease began on Nov. 1.

The pride center had previously been located about a block away on Orange Street. The new, larger location gives the organization an opportunity to expand.

Juancarlos Soto, center executive director, said, “We are relocating to a new space that will not only amplify our visibility but also enhance our capacity to serve the community.”

Dara Kovel, CEO at Beacon, said the lease furthers Beacon’s goal of “building inclusive, diverse communities” across its portfolio.
