New small-unit industrial building planned for South Windsor

A local engineering and construction firm is looking to build a multi-tenant commercial and industrial space.

PDS Engineering and Construction of Bloomfield, as Startline Development LLC, has applied to the South Windsor Planning and Zoning Commission to build a 30,200-square-foot building in the town’s industrial zone.

The one-story building would have 24 units, ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 square feet, each with its own restroom and garage/loading door.

PDS is also looking to combine three lots into one 4.3-acre parcel for the project, which would build industrial/commercial units that are in high demand from small contractors like plumbers, electricians or other trades workers who rent the units for equipment storage, said Bill Jodice, of PDS, which also owns the land.

The proposal gained town Inland Wetlands approval, and will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission tonight.
