A 3.48-acre parcel in Newtown that has been approved for a mixed-use multifamily development has sold for $2.4 million, according to the town’s land records.
The property, located 2, 4, 6 and 8 Riverside Road, was purchased by a limited liability company controlled by Kevin and Karen Williams of Bethel.
The seller was Vasam Associates LLC, controlled by Verdat Kala of Middlebury.
Newtown’s Planning and Zoning Commission in late November approved a development plan by the buyer to construct four new buildings on the property that would collectively house 37 apartments and retail space, town documents show.
One of the four parcels at 6 Riverside Road has an existing 1.75-story, 1,614-square-foot house that was built in 1813, according to property records.
It is not clear what will happen to this building.
