Nonprofits to share $35M in latest round of state funding for capital projects

HBJ

More than $35 million in state funding will help Connecticut nonprofits with capital improvement projects, Gov. Ned Lamont announced today.

The $35.5 million in funding comes from the state’s Nonprofit Grant Program, which was established in 2013 and is administered by the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management. In more than 10 years, the program has provided more than $130 million to the state’s nonprofit organizations, supporting about 750 projects.

The recent $35 million funding round will support 94 projects and be used to fund renovations, improvements, and additions; new construction; health, safety, and Americans with Disabilities Act projects; energy conservation improvements; information technology systems; technology that promotes client independence; purchase of vehicles; and acquisition of property, the governor said.
