A law firm has acquired a small office building on the outskirts of West Hartford Center and is planning to move its northern Connecticut legal operations there.
The property, at 77 South Main St., traded hands this week for $665,000, according to a broker involved in the deal.
Attorney Peter C. Bowman, co-founder of BBB Attorneys, said the firm is moving its West Hartford office to the location.
“This is an important moment for our firm, and we are excited for the future,” Bowman said. “We are also proud to show our commitment to the community through this purchase.”
BBB Attorneys will maintain a significant presence in New Haven and New Milford, he said, and is planning to expand its Stratford office.
Bowman said the firm’s first location was in a small office at 970 Farmington Ave., in West Hartford Center.
As the firm grew, it moved to 41 North Main St., where it established its Legal Innovation Center.
The firm’s new office is about half-a-mile away, in a 1,978-square-foot building at 77 South Main St. It was sold by Hallinan Properties LLC, which is controlled by James A. Hallinan Jr. and Margaret Hallinan, state records show.
Hallinan Jr. is the managing partner of West Hartford-based Jim Hallinan Pension Consulting LLC.
Hallinan Properties originally purchased property, which has been fully updated, in 2014 for $420,000.
The property was originally listed for $625,000 and received multiple offers, said Evan Berman, a Realtor with Broder Commercial, who brokered the deal.
The South Main Street property sits on 0.19 acres and was built in 1900.
BBB Attorneys was represented by Karen Berwick of Real Estate Two as well as attorneys Rosemarie Young and Erandi Reiland in executing the closing.
