An 8,100-square-foot Farmington office building along the Farmington River sold for $1 million in a transaction recorded Dec. 16.
Pitkin Basin Realty sold the 71-year-old building on 1.6 acres at 128 Garden St. to D&D Properties, of West Hartford.
Michael Doherty of West Hartford and Ryan Deasy of New Britain are the principals of D&D Properties. Doherty said Thursday the building was 75% leased at purchase.
The plan is to continue leasing, he said.
Doherty said the riverside property was attractive due to its scenic and convenient location. It is located adjacent to Miss Porter’s School, a private girl’s school on a 40-acre campus.
“You can’t get much better,” Doherty said of the location.
Deasy said he and Doherty will occupy an office in the building as headquarters for their new real estate investment company, Skytree investments.
The property is divided into 17 units. There are five available for lease, ranging from 150 to 840 square feet, with lease rates of between $26 and $28 per square foot.
