Parkville Market welcomes four new food vendors

PHOTO | CONTRIBUTED An expansion of Hartford’s Parkville Market is one of the economic development projects slated for an influx of federal relief funding.

Hartford’s Parkville Market is adding four new vendors this year, with two already open and serving Taiwanese and Portuguese cuisine.

Parkville Market, which touts itself as Connecticut’s first food hall, recently celebrated the opening of Taiwan Night Market and Taste of Portugal. Two more vendors, KOJI2GO and Flor do Mar, are set to open soon, Parkville officials said, giving the food hub 21 eateries.

Taiwan Night Market is the 10th brick-and-mortar eatery launched by restaurant group The Blackfin Collective over the past decade. Hartford Poke Company and Okinawa Boba, two of the group’s other brands, also operate at Parkville Market.

Taste of Portugal is the latest concept from Chef Rui Correia. Correia previously ran a popular Portuguese restaurant Douro in Greenwich from 2009 to 2022. In addition to Taste of Portugal, Correia plans to open a chicken and ribs restaurant called Piri-Q in Parkville Market by the end of the year.

Over the next few weeks, KOJI2GO and Flor do Mar will also open in Parkville Market.

KOJI2GO is run by Cais Lee Tran and Tuan Tran, who previously ran the Koji sake bar in downtown Hartford for 13 years. Koji closed in 2018 and the couple have since shifted their business to a food focus. The two also previously opened COji Kitchen in Southington.

Flor do Mar will be the third Parkville Market operation opened by restauranter Adeilton Carvalho — his Brazilian Gula Grill storefront and food truck are also based out of the food hall.
