PARTY AIDS ST. FRANCIS WOMEN'S CENTER

The fourth annual Barbara Gordon party featured a beach party theme. More than 160 people, including Gov. Dannel Malloy, helped raise more than $18,000 to benefit the new Comprehensive Women’s Health Center at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. Over the years, the event has raised $60,000. Gordon holds the event every year in the backyard of her West Hartford home in gratitude for the care she received at St. Francis for uterine and pancreatic cancer. About 30 members of the West Hartford Firefighters Association made a fish fry dinner.
