Pen maker takes a shine to Olin's antibacterial copper

A.T. Cross website The Century Copper Pen

High-end pen maker A.T. Cross has introduced a pen made of antibacterial copper developed by Kentucky’s Olin Brass, which has its Somers Thin Strip division in Waterbury.

The Century Copper Pen’s copper kills certain bacteria including staph infections, a common strain of E. coli, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, commonly know as MRSA, according to Olin.

The pen has a suggested retail price of $50.
