PetSmart will open a new store in Waterbury’s Mattatuck Commons, 921 Wolcott St., in a 15,600-square-foot space previously occupied by Royal Buffet & Grill.
A grand opening is set for 9 a.m. Saturday.
The new store relocated from PetSmart’s previous location at 475 Bank St., which is now closed.
Pets and their human parents who attend the grand opening will receive, while supplies last, a goodie bag filled with items such as a $10 PetSmart gift card, pet bandana, pet toys and coupons.
PetSmart sells a full lineup of products for cats, dogs, fish, birds, reptiles and small pets. The store also offers services, including pet training and grooming.
The new Waterbury location will offer pet adoptions through PetSmart Charities and local animal welfare organizations.
PetSmart operates more than 1,670 pet stores in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. It has 11 locations in Connecticut.
Mattatuck Commons is a roughly 148,000-square-foot shopping center anchored by a newly renovated Shop & Shop.
