The Travelers Championship teed off last week at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, with Olympic gold medallist Xander Schauffele winning the title on Sunday.

The tournament, which donates 100% of its net proceeds to nonprofits, generated more than $2.5 million to benefit more than 130 charitable organizations this year, The Travelers Cos. Inc. announced Monday.

The annual event has raised more than $25 million for more than 800 local nonprofits since Travelers became title sponsor in 2007.
