A Massachusetts-based electrical parts company with a facility in Milford has purchased a neighboring industrial building with plans for local expansion.

United Electric Controls, headquartered in Watertown, Mass., bought the 5,800-square-foot building at 330 Woodmont Road, Milford, for $900,000 in November from Airgas USA.

The building sits next to the company’s existing semiconductor and aerospace Precision Sensors facility at 340 Woodmont Road, Milford.

Precision Sensors was founded more than 50 years ago to serve the aerospace and defense industries, and was acquired by United Electric Controls Co. in 1989.

Chris O’Hara, senior vice president of Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty, represented the buyer. The 330 Woodmont Road property has a total appraised value of $765,900, and the 340 Woodmont Road building is appraised at $2.75 million, according to city property records.

The seller, Airgas, Air Liquide company, is a supplier of industrial, medical and specialty gases, as well as hardgoods and related products including safety and ammonia products and process chemicals. Airgas will be consolidating into another existing facility, O’Hara said.
