A plan to build a three-building, 10-unit apartment complex on three-quarters of an acre in Fairfield has received the green light.

The applicants, Christopher Cocco and Andrzej Piekarski, plan to construct the three buildings on a 0.75-acre lot, at 168 Kings Drive, according to an application filed with the town in January.

Cocco is a Greenwich real-estate agent, while Piekarski owns Westport-based Peika Construction.

The buildings will contain three-bedroom apartments that will have 2,072 square feet of living space on average and a 616-square-foot garage on the ground floor. The complex will house 26,880 square feet of space in total.

Three units will be set aside as affordable housing, per state statute 8-30g.

“This project offers a crucial solution to the affordability crisis, not only within the
Southport area of Fairfield, but within the country as a whole,” the application said.
