Qdoba, a national Mexican restaurant chain, plans to open 15 restaurants in Connecticut and Massachusetts as part of a strategy to open 33 more locations nationwide.
The San Diego-based chain said it has entered into a franchise agreement with PFGS LLC to develop 15 restaurants across the Springfield, Massachusetts, and Hartford markets.
The limited liability company is headed by Johnny Muhammad, the former head of company operations for KFC U.S.
PFGS also operates multiple KFC and Dunkin' locations.
Qdoba currently has only one Connecticut location at 652 Main Ave., in Norwalk, according to its website.
Qdoba said its sales grew by 6.1% in fiscal 2023, and 7.7% in fiscal 2024, helping fuel growth.
"QDOBA's momentum continues to accelerate, driven by strong franchise partnerships and a commitment to quality," said Jeremy Vitaro, Qdoba’s chief development officer.
