Dr. Listy Thomas, professor at Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, has been named chair of the department of medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport beginning August 1.
She will hold leadership posts at both the university and the hospital. St. Vincent’s Medical Center is part of the Hartford HealthCare system.
Thomas’s dual role is part of the recent strategic workforce partnership between Hartford HealthCare and Quinnipiac University.
Dr. Daniel Gottschall, vice president of medical affairs at St. Vincent’s, said, “Her relationship with Quinnipiac University will further help to educate and prepare the next generation of health care workers which will address the future needs of our state.”
Thomas will continue in her post as a full professor and assistant dean of simulation at the Netter School of Medicine.
Thomas is board certified in emergency medicine and internal medicine and is a practicing emergency medicine physician at St. Vincent’s. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut College of Emergency Physicians.
Thomas received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate and completed her residency and internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
