Rachel Fain is a partner at Halloran & Sage LLP, a Connecticut-based law firm that handles transactional and litigation work. She is a co-chair of the firm’s insurance coverage litigation practice group and handles coverage disputes and personal injury litigation, including cases involving general liability and premises liability for both first and third parties. She has a history of favorable decisions defending clients in high-exposure matters.

What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?

I work with the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center on a pro bono basis to manage eviction defense cases for veterans facing homelessness. While serving as co-chair of Halloran & Sage’s Pro Bono Committee, my firm was awarded the 2019 Pro Bono Award from the Hartford County Bar Association.

How are you involved in the community?

In addition to my pro bono work for the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center, I volunteer with Connecticut Special Olympics, and support the American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, Hispanic Bar Association and Hartford County Bar Association.

What do you like to do outside of work?

With exception to pandemic times, I am usually out and about in the Greater Hartford area supporting local businesses. I love attending Yard Goats games with friends during baseball season and I am a long-time member of CrossFit Hartford.

How did dealing with the coronavirus pandemic help you grow as a leader?

The pandemic presented new challenges to overcome in my leadership role as co-chair of the firm’s insurance coverage group. I organized and coordinated calls and video conferences to continue conversations about firm priorities and our cases. I also mentored associates on handling the unique obstacles that accompany working remotely.
