New Haven-based biopharmaceutical company Rallybio recently appointed Helen M. Boudreau to its board of directors.

Boudreau will also serve as chair of the company’s audit committee. She formerly served as chief operating officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute.

Rallybio launched in 2018 and works to identify and accelerate the development of treatments for severe and rare disorders, such as in the areas of hematology, immuno-inflammation and metabolism. Its lead product candidate aims to prevent a rare disease that can cause uncontrolled bleeding in fetuses and newborns.

“I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members and the Rallybio leadership team as we advance Rallybio’s portfolio of potentially life-transforming candidates with the goal of having a meaningful impact on the lives of patients in need,” Boudreau said in an announcement.
