Bristol sports media giant ESPN is laying off 100 employees after Thanksgiving, according to multiple news reports.

Sources have reportedly told Sports Illustrated that the layoffs are imminent, particularly within the company’s SportsCenter news program.

ESPN declined comment, noting that it employs 8,000 people, 4,200 of whom are based in Bristol.

This will represent the latest round of layoffs at ESPN, which has faced tough conditions as more consumers cut the cord on traditional cable TV in favor of online streaming services.

In April, ESPN eliminated 100 on-air personalities and in 2015 the company laid off roughly 300 employees.

In an earnings call Thursday, Disney, the parent company of ESPN, announced its evolving direct-to-consumer business, due to launch in 2018, will be named ESPN Plus and discussed new digital initiatives as it strives to continue to grow its customer base.
