Fairfield-based Sacred Heart University announced Thursday that its athletics department has signed a multiyear agreement with a North Carolina-based sports marketing firm to handle its outbound ticket sales.
SHU becomes the second Connecticut collegiate client of Taymar Sales U., which also serves the University of Connecticut Athletics.
So-called outbound ticket sales involve proactively reaching out to potential buyers through email, phone calls, social media or other channels.
Sacred Heart is Taymar’s first client in the new Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and its second in the Atlantic Hockey America league.
Taymar has 26 clients overall, including the University of Kentucky and Michigan State University.
The company said it has hired Brendan Varley as director of ticket sales to oversee all outbound ticket sales efforts in Fairfield. He will work with Sacred Heart to bring a data-driven and proactive approach to increasing revenue, it said.
Taymar Sales U. is a college sports marketing company that handles ticket sales, sponsorship, ticket operations and fundraising.
