Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill resumes expansion with new W. Hartford location

Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill, a Danbury-based restaurant chain, opened a new location in West Hartford’s Bishops Corner Shopping Mall this week, marking a resumption of expansion plans.

The new restaurant, on 345 North Main St., is the 11th location Salsa Fresca has opened in Connecticut and New York, according to the company. 

The move marks the resumption of expansion plans Salsa Fresca made before the pandemic, according to the company. The chain will soon establish eateries in Fairfield and Westport following the West Hartford opening, co-owner Marc Miles said.

West Hartford’s Salsa Fresca is the chain’s first franchisee-owned establishment, Miles said, which opens the door to growth through franchising.

“[This] marks the beginning of a new era for Salsa Fresca and an opportunity for other experienced operators to get on board with this exciting, dynamic and growing brand," the company said in a statement.
