What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?

I have the opportunity to build a new healthcare solution. This challenge gives me insight into how healthcare decisions are made, and the barriers to those needing care. Designing a solution to support a component of well-being that is stigmatized, difficult to navigate, and under-utilized is why I pursued health care.

How are you involved in the community?

I sit on the board of Leadership Greater Hartford. Additionally, I am responsible for helping to design engagement opportunities for Leadership Greater Hartford’s program alumni. At UConn, Cigna and Dress for Success, I remain engaged through supporting those exploring career opportunities, which includes mentoring and presenting to various audiences.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Most of my time is spent with my family, husband and son. I enjoy home renovation and design, walking, crochet, and exploring Connecticut’s wine trail. Since our son was born, we have traveled and explored closer to home, but hope to plan more trips soon.

What part of work life did you miss most during the pandemic?

Cigna is a global organization so almost all meetings have virtual capability. However, I commuted four days a week, and took for granted how important face-to-face connection is. I remain grateful for technology to connect me to others and a remote-conducive role, but I look forward to in-person connections again.

Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty:

Highly active mentor for and supporter of career development within the community.

Launched a new behavioral health product for Cigna and another behavioral health pilot.

Board member and volunteer for Leadership Greater Hartford.

Graduated in the top 10% of the University of Connecticut’s MBA class of 2016.

Fun Fact

I feel at home at the beach. It inspires my home design.
