The Savers Inc. thrift-store chain is hiring more than 50 people for its fifth Connecticut store opening in Meriden in August.
Savers will hold a job fair next week to fill the positions at the store to be located in the Chamberlain Plaza Shopping Center, 495 Chamberlain Highway, site of a former Circuity City electronics-appliance store.
The fair will be at the Hampton Inn, 100 Bee St., in Meriden from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to fill full- and part-time positions in customer service, floor sales and back-room store production. The store opens Aug. 26.
Seattle-based Savers has opened four Connecticut stores this year - Manchester, Newington, Orange and Waterbury -- and has 18 in New England.
The Savers/Value Village chain has more than 240 thrift stores in 25 states, Canada and Australia.
