A Norwalk-based scientific instrument company has bought and will relocate to an Ansonia commercial site, which was home to a longtime local lighting company.
Buck Real Estate LLC, with principals Eric Anderson, Pingxin Wang, Hong Xiao and James Wang, bought a commercial building at 91 West Main St. and 1 Water St., in Ansonia, for $598,000 from NFR of Ansonia LLC in a deal recorded Dec. 27.
Anderson is CEO of Buck Scientific Instruments LLC, which makes products such as atomic absorption spectrometers, microwave digestion systems, and gas chromatographs. Buck Scientific serves more than 10,000 customers in the industrial, environmental, quality control, mining, plating, and educational markets in more than 40 countries, according to the company website.
The 9,300-square-foot Ansonia facility features a front showroom/retail area, office space and a warehouse with truck bays.
Stephen J. Hodson of Trumbull-based Hodson Realty Inc. said Anderson was looking for a larger space for his operations, and the building and location were ideal. The building is close to Route 8 as well as nearby restaurants, banks and amenities.
It was formerly home to the Valley Lighting and Home Decor center, which recently relocated to a larger site on nearby Chestnut Street.
