Southern Connecticut State University has named Manohar Singh dean of its School of Graduate and Professional Studies. Singh was formerly dean of the College of Professional Studies at Humboldt State University (Arcata, Calif.).
Before that, he served as division head for the Division of Business and Social Sciences at Penn State University/ Abington, and interim chair of the Department of Finance at Long Island University.
Singh earned a Ph.D. in finance from Southern Illinois University/Carbondale, an M.A. from the University of Waterloo/Ontario, Canada, and an M.A. with honors from Punjab University in India.
Nora R. Dannehy has returned to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and will serve as counsel to U.S. Attorney John H. Durham. Dannehy first joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut in 1991 and served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney until April 2008 when, as the Deputy U.S. Attorney, she became Acting U.S. Attorney upon the resignation of U.S. Attorney Kevin J. O’Connor. She was named the 49th U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and the first woman to hold the position in the history of the office, which was established in 1789. She served in the position until May 2010. From October 2013 to March 2019, she was employed by United Technologies Corp. as Associate General Counsel for Global Ethics and Compliance.
Dannehy was graduated from Wellesley College in 1983 and earned her JD from Harvard Law School in 1986.
