Bloomfield’s Seabury retirement community says it will promote its executive vice president as chief executive following the retirement of CEO Richard C. Heath.
Heath has led the organization at 200 Seabury Dr. for the last seven years after taking over as CEO for the late John S. Mobley in 2012. Heath is being succeeded by Renée J. Bernasconi, currently Seabury’s executive VP and chief strategy officer, effective June 1.
Under Heath’s leadership, the retirement community completed a $75 million project to reposition and expand its continuing-care housing complex.
Officials on Tuesday said Bernasconi, who has been with the company for over two decades, also played a key role in spearheading the three-year expansion project.
Bernasconi said she has benefitted from the mentorship Heath has provided over the years.
“As Seabury’s next CEO, I am committed to building on our community’s strong foundation and ensure its future success,” she said.
