Sean Nadeau is the marketing and membership manager for the Connecticut Science Center. Nadeau and his team are directly responsible for a significant portion of the Science Center’s annual earned revenue.

Since arriving, he has helped to deliver exciting public-facing marketing campaigns, engaging special events, and built a robust social media network. Nadeau is one of the hardest working, most reliable, respected, and well-rounded professionals helping to deliver the mission of the Connecticut Science Center.

What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?

My biggest accomplishment is growing the membership program to produce more than $1 million in revenue for the first time in the program’s 10-year history. I developed new benefits and engaging member events that led to the growth of the program.

How are you involved in the community?

I am a member of the Colchester Economic Development Commission, and the senior center building committee. At my kids’ school I coordinate the talent show, school dances, and coach youth basketball. I am also involved in WATCH D.O.G.S., the nation’s largest school-based, family and community engagement organization in the country.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love spending time with my wife and two girls. I also enjoy craft beer. I work part time at Hop Culture in Colchester where I pour delicious craft beer and socialize with people from all over. Hop Culture, in my opinion, produces some of the best craft beer in Connecticut.

What part of work life did you miss most during the pandemic?

I missed the daily, in-person interaction with my colleagues. A Zoom call is not the same as being together in the office and having the ability to swing by someone’s desk to ask a question. I missed asking how someone’s weekend was or what TV shows they are currently binging.

Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty:

I believe in giving back to the community you are part of to make it a better place for everyone to live, learn and play.

I lead a high-performance team of professionals responsible for the organization’s earned revenue and communications.

I enjoy partnering with local companies to keep business local and drive significant cost savings to our bottom line.

I am a dynamic manager whose energy and good cheer are inspiring to be around.

Fun Fact

I am a huge Batman nerd and also enjoy playing video games when I can’t be outside.
