Seven months later, Zygo’s Allan now COO

Anthony "Tony'' Allan, who seven months ago signed on as global operations vice president at Middlefield technology maker Zygo Corp., is now a step closer to the CEO chair.

Allan was named chief operating officer at Zygo, after joining the company in February as senior vice president. Zygo said at the time Allan, 46, was hired to succeed retiring Douglas J. Eccleston as global operations chief.

Zygo makes precision opticals and measuring systems.

Allan will continue to report to Zygo President and CEO Chris Koliopoulos.

The company didn’t disclose Allan’s new pay package. When he signed on in February, he agreed to a $286,000 salary and 50,000 stock options, according to a regulatory filing at the time.

Allan previously was chief operating officer at Masimo Corp., an Irvine, Calif., maker of non-invasive patient monitors.
