ShopRite reopening four CT supermarkets

ShopRite will open in the next week four Connecticut stores that are converted former Shaw's Supermarket locations.

Next Wednesday, ShopRite will open in Clinton Commons Shopping Plaza, 266 E. Main St., and in 846 North Colony Road in Wallingford, both former Shaw's locations.

In West Hartford on June 27, the 71,000-square-foot at Prospect Avenue and Kane Street will open for business at 8:45 a.m., following a ribbon-cutting ceremony to be attended by store and town officials.

The ShopRite of West Hartford is owned and operated by Joseph Family Markets, which also operates a Canton ShopRite that was a Shaw's.

Waverly Markets in Connecticut is opening its East Hartford ShopRite in a former Shaw's location at 31 Main St., in the Putnam Bridge Plaza. Waverly Markets also operates a ShopRite in Manchester.

ShopRite two weeks ago reopened a converted Shaw's in Enfield.
