Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. has been awarded an $18.4 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy for work related to the CH-53K Heavy Lift Aircraft, according to information from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).

Sikorsky, the Stratford-based helicopter and defense manufacturer that is a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Co., secured the contract from the Navy Jan. 8. The new contract “adds scope to provide logistics and airworthiness support for CH-53K Heavy Lift aircraft configuration changes for the government of Israel,” the DOD said.

Work for the contract will be performed in Stratford and is expected to be completed in February 2026.
