Simsbury's Millwrights to suspend indoor dining

Restaurateur Tyler Anderson announced his signature Simsbury restaurant, Millwrights, will put a hold on indoor dining until Feb. 11.

The local foodie-favorite restaurant will continue its by-reservation outdoor dining in closed, heated greenhouses, Anderson said in a Facebook post. Anderson added that January is typically the eatery's slowest month, anyway.

"For that reason, coupled with lowered customer confidence in restaurants right now, we've decided to close our indoor dining," Anderson said on Facebook. "We also have some exciting changes coming to Millwrights as we return to normalcy in the spring!"

The announcement comes at the same time as the Connecticut Restaurant Association pushes back on a state Department of Public Health report that links restaurants to COVID-19 cases, saying there is demonstrable proof that restaurants operating with indoor service did not cause the type of spreads DHS linked to restaurants.
