Veteran Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) executive Diane L. Smith has been named interim chief executive officer at the quasi-public agency.
Smith, with CHFA since 2004 and currently its director of planning, research and evaluation, was temporarily seated, effective Friday, in the wake of the recent departure of Karl Kilduff, who was not reappointed to the CEO post.
State Department of Housing Commissioner Seila Mosquera-Bruno, who chairs the CHFA board, said a search for a permanent CEO is underway and that Smith will handle those responsibilities until it is completed.
Smith previously worked for the state Department of Economic and Community Development as executive director for the divisions of Urban Revitalization & Investment and Community & Housing Development.
