Milford-headquartered Splash Car Wash is continuing its expansion with the recent acquisition of Fast Lane Oil Change & Car Wash in Brewster, N.Y.
The transaction adds a former competitor to the Splash chain, which has locations across New York, Vermont and Connecticut.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Splash Car Wash plans to renovate the business, with modifications to be finished by the end of this year.
Dan Petrelle, chief operating officer at Splash, called it a “nice addition” to the company’s portfolio.
The company plans to convert the site to an express wash, and will add free self-service vacuums, pay gates and equipment upgrades, he said.
Splash CEO Mark Curtis said of the deal, “It's nice to welcome a longtime competitor into the fold.”
The businesses have been competing since Splash acquired its existing Brewster location in 2007, according to Curtis.
Curtis launched Splash Car Wash in 1981 with Chris Fisher, and the chain started with a sole location in Greenwich. Since then, Curtis and Fisher have been involved in developing more than 50 locations, according to a press release.
Splash also recently announced acquisitions in Long Island and upstate New York.
