Stamford-based pharma and medical communication services organization The Lockwood Group has acquired a Texas medical education company.
IDEOlogy Health, based in Austin, creates communication tools for healthcare providers, including medical education conferences, webinars and training videos. Among others, it hosts the Texas Lung Cancer Conference, World Conference on Genitourinary Cancers and the Nashville Hematology Conference.
Lockwood says the purchase strengthens its presence in strategy and communications for life sciences companies.
It’s the company’s third acquisition since receiving a private equity investment in 2021.
The following year, it took on U.K.-based medical animation studio Random42 Scientific Communication, and in 2024 it bought Advantage Point Solutions, a strategic market access consulting group.
Lockwoods says that IDEOlogy has a particularly strong reputation in oncology and hematology, including exclusive community partnerships, and the acquisition positions the group for continued growth in the oncology and rare disease sectors.
“This partnership accelerates our ability to offer differentiated value to our clients and deepens our impact on healthcare providers and, ultimately, patients,” said Matthew Schecter, founder and CEO of The Lockwood Group.
Lockwood employs around 600 people. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
