A recent study by an international team of researchers found that the most remote-friendly town in the country is Bloomfield, home to insurer Cigna Group.

The researchers, who include academics from Stanford University and the London School of Economics, analyzed the share of job vacancies that allow employees to work from home at least one day a week.

The study found that 44.2% of job vacancies in Bloomfield offered remote work as an option.

Coming in second place was Augusta, Maine, which had work-from-home options for 43.3% of its job openings, followed by Dover, Delaware (39.7%); Bernards, New Jersey (31.8%); Lansing, Michigan (30.8%); Helena, Montana (28.6%); Reston, Virginia (28.3%), Topeka, Kansas (28.1%); Trenton, New Jersey (28%) and San Francisco (27.1%).

The most remote-unfriendly town in the country was Burleson, Texas, which had a 0.62% share of jobs vacancies offering remote work.

But as the job market tightens, Bloomfield’s largest employer is becoming a little stricter.

Cigna CEO David Cordani said the company will shift beginning in September to “more colleagues working a majority of time in one of our sites,” according to a March employee memo cited by Bloomberg. The memo stated that 90% of Cigna’s 70,000-person workforce was working remotely all or nearly all of the time.
