The Fresh Market opens specialty grocery store in Wethersfield

The Fresh Market opened a new location, its fourth in Connecticut, in Wethersfield on Wednesday.
The specialty grocer at 1065 Silas Deane Highway opened its doors at 8 a.m. to a line of people waiting to be among the first to experience the store’s farmers market-style shopping experience.
The Fresh Market is located in a roughly 30,000-square-foot space that previously housed a Bed Bath & Beyond store. It’s part of a commercial shopping plaza that also contains T.J. Maxx and Panera.
The Fresh Market is known for its fresh, high-quality produce, meats, seafood, cheeses and other foods, as well as its in-store bakery and floral stands.
The Wethersfield store is The Fresh Market’s 171st location in the United States. The chain, which is growing, debuted a second store on Wednesday in Jensen Beach, Florida.
By April 30, The Fresh Market will have opened 12 new storefronts in six months, the company said.
The Wethersfield location is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.
