The Hartford expands MLB team sponsorship

PHOTOs | Wikimedia Commons The Hartford has expanded its sponsorship of MLB teams including the Atlanta Braves.

On the heels of its sponsorship deal with Major League Baseball, The Hartford Financial Services Group has announced additional sponsorships of five MLB teams.

The Hartford insurer has added the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies, Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates, bringing the total to 10 teams in addition to the national MLB sponsorship. The others teams are the Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers.

No financial details were released.

The property-casualty insurer said the sponsorships expand its brand’s visibility. The Hartford’s Chief Marketing Officer Kathy Bromage said the sponsorships revolve around the role that relief pitchers and closers play in the game.

The Hartford’s MLB sponsorship also includes the presenting sponsorship of the Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year and Trevor Hoffman National League Reliever of the Year Awards. Both serve as brand ambassadors for the company. The Hartford is the exclusive business insurance, homeowners’ insurance and employee benefits partner of MLB.
