A 194.3-acre property in South Windsor has hit the market like a ton of bricks.
The former brick manufacturing plant at 1440 John Fitch Blvd., which spans 149,000 square feet across six buildings, is for sale.
The site is owned by Redland Brick Inc., which excavated clay and manufactured bricks at the location for nearly a century. However, the company vacated the property a couple of years ago, according to a broker involved in the deal.
Redland Brick was acquired by Brickworks North America Corp. in 2019.
The site contains a 30-acre clay-mining pond and is served by a railroad siding operated by CSX. It has more than 5 acres of paved and gravel outside storage with parking.
The property offers access to interstates 91 and 291, and is zoned for industrial use, according to the listing.
The asking price is $6 million.
The seller is represented by JLL Managing Director Shawn McMahon (shawn.mcmahon@jll.com).
