Three Norwalk commercial buildings that were formerly home to Casale’s Autobody on Van Zant Street have sold for $1.8 million, according to a broker representing the seller.
Charles Schemera, of Norwalk, has bought the three properties at 7, 9 and 10 Van Zant St., from the Casale family of Norwalk, the body shop’s former owner.
“The Van Zant Street Portfolio presented a rare opportunity for buyers seeking to reposition or redevelop commercial assets in a highly accessible and growing area of Norwalk,” said Jon Angel, president of Angel Commercial LLC, a Fairfield-based commercial real estate broker that represented the seller in the deal. “Its strategic location near I-95, Route 7, the East Norwalk Metro-North Station, and vibrant local amenities made it especially appealing.”
Calls to DVB Commercial Realty, which represented Schemera, were not immediately returned.
The buildings contain a total of 9,000 square feet of space across two stories at 7 Van Zant St., and one story at 9 and 10 Van Zant St., property records show.
The three buildings, which were built in the 1970s, have a total appraised value of $2.26 million and a total assessed value of $1.58 million.
