A Tolland-based software company has named a new president.

CNC Software LLC, which makes the well-known Mastercam CAD/CAM software for the manufacturing and other industries, announced the appointment of Susan Brandt as its new president.

CNC Software, which also goes by the name of Mastercam, was acquired in 2021 by Sandvik AB, a Swedish multinational engineering company.
CNC/Mastercam now operates as a business unit within Sandvik’s manufacturing solutions division.

Brandt replaces Meghan West, the company’s outgoing president. West is the daughter of CNC Software’s founder, Mark Summers. She had been leading the company since 2015.

Sandvik announced it closed on its purchase of CNC Software in September 2021. At the time, Sandvik said CNC generated $60 million in revenue in 2020.

CNC/Mastercam offers a suite of CAD/CAM software created to reduce production time and costs with machining strategies. The software has more than 300,000 installations in industries such as moldmaking, automotive, medical, aerospace, consumer products, education and prototyping, the company said.

Brandt has over 25 years of experience within the business-to-business software/SaaS infrastructure design and engineering software industry, according to the company. She has held several senior leadership positions during her career, including at Pennsylvania-based software development company Bentley Systems, where she held executive roles in sales, business development, and strategic product and business initiatives.
