Torrington-based builder Allan Borghesi recently paid $1.3 million for a Southington building that had housed another contracting company.

A limited liability company headed by Borghesi paid $1.3 million for a 12,766-square-foot, metal-sided, industrial building at 109 Industrial Drive in Southington in a deal recorded Dec. 23.

Borghesi is chairman of Borghesi Building & Engineering, a 49-year-old, family-run building company based in Torrington. Borghesi formed 109 Industrial Drive LLC. nine days before it purchased the Southington property.

Borghesi said the site was purchased to be added to his portfolio of lease properties.

“We identified this as having potential for the future,” Borghesi said.

Louis C. Donati Jr., of Southington, is principal of the seller, Foxcroft Enterprises. He was also principal of Donati Contracting. The company was headquartered at 109 Industrial Drive and dissolved last March, according to state records.
