Litchfield County is getting another recreational cannabis dispensary this weekend with the launch of Higher Collective Torrington, the company announced.

Higher Collective, a Connecticut-based cannabis company launched by former Curaleaf executive Patrik Jonsson, is set to open its fifth adult-use dispensary in the state Saturday, June 8 at 53 McDermott Ave, Torrington. The new storefront, which includes more than 3,000 square feet of retail space, will be open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, according to the company.

Higher Collective Torrington is the second cannabis dispensary in town, with Still River Wellness operating more than five miles down the road.

Before Torrington, Higher Collective has launched locations in Hartford, Killingly, New London and Willington with its team of social equity applicants. The new store will be run by Monique and Zerrell Stallings.

A sixth Higher Collective location is expected to open in Bridgeport this summer, with another store planned for Hamden later in the year.
