Just four months following its debut, a Hamden company’s new technology is being used on the other side of the world.
TransAct Technologies Inc. introduced its BOHA! Back-of-House Automation Ecosystem in March. The technology includes hardware and software for food-service businesses such as restaurants and convenience stores.
TransAct has reached its first agreement to deploy BOHA! in the Asia-Pacific market. A casino gaming resort in Macau, in southern China, will install 100 BOHA! Terminals in its kitchens, along with the company’s app and management system, within four months.
The BOHA! system can be used for a variety of tasks, such as managing inventory, creating and printing food-safety labels, managing and calling up recipes, and doing checklists.
TransAct Chairman and CEO Bart C. Shuldman said the BOHA! Technology is “quickly gaining traction” at restaurants and food-service operations, and he is pleased to see it attracting attention in the global marketplace.
He noted this Macau casino features many different restaurant venues and a variety of menu offerings.
“This agreement to deploy BOHA! in all kitchens at a leading Macau casino resort speaks very highly to the flexibility and advantages offered by our industry-unique solution,” Shuldman said in an announcement.
Last month, the company announced it had reached an agreement with an international food-service brand to deploy the BOHA! technology at 1,000 locations in 2019.
According to the company, BOHA! is the first single-vendor solution to combine applications for inventory management, temperature monitoring of food and equipment, food safety labeling, food recalls, checklists and procedures, equipment service management and delivery management, in one platform.
The company develops software-driven technology and printing solutions for various markets, including restaurants, casino and gaming, lottery, mobile, and oil and gas.
