A zip code in Southington was recently ranked No. 2 in the country for housing metrics, according to Realtor.com.

The zip code, 06489, was one of two Connecticut zip codes in the top 10.

The rankings were determined by the number of unique page views per property on the real estate website and the pace of the market, measured by the number of days a listing remained active on Realtor.com.

The other Connecticut zip code in the top 10 was 06851 in Norwalk.

The Southington zip code saw 5.77 views per property – the highest of any zip code in the top 50 – with a median of 18 days on the market. The median listing price for June was $410,000.

The Norwalk zip code had 2.9 viewers per property, with a median of 23 days on the market, and a median listing price of $749,000.

Torrington and Waterbury also made the top 50.

Realtor.com says the rankings are an indicator of housing market demand. As interest rates remain high and companies call workers back to the office, the hottest zip codes are in areas near cities that are more affordable than the rest of the country, according to the study.

The most popular zip codes were all in the Midwest and Northeast, and tended to attract buyers with homes priced below the U.S. median price, or larger in size than the average.

The hottest zip code was found to be in Gahanna, Ohio.
